Our new poetry journal, NOURISH-children's poetry, solicits original, unpublished work for publication in 2018.  We are interested in haiku for children.  

Deadline for submission for the first issue is December 31, 2017.

Please send only one collection of haiku per issue, with a maximum of 5 haiku.  Please only send 1 haiku per submission. So if you want to submit 5 haiku, you need to do 5 submissions, with one haiku per submission.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES are as follows:

  • Name, address, phone number and e-mail address must appear on every page of every haiku.  

  • All haiku must be the original work of the author, not previously published. and not under consideration at another journal or contest.  (Work that has appeared in newsletters or on web-based journals, web media sites, personal web sites and blogs, is considered published.)


  • Submissions will not be returned.  Please keep your own copies.

  • Please do not send biographies or résumés; only the haiku are judged..

  • Payment is one free copy of the journal.

  • Upon publication, all rights revert to the author, except that NOURISH-children's poetry, reserves the right to reuse, in any future collections or anthologies with proper citation, work that has appeared in the journal or on our website.  In addition, if the author wishes to republish the work in any form, we ask the courtesy of acknowledgment of first publication in NOURISH-children's poetry.

  • Line Limit per page is 30, and includes spaces between stanzas.  One page poems are preferred; there is a 2-page maximum per poem.
